How the U.S.A. fits into the Communist Manifesto

  The following are ten points mentioned in section II of the Communist Manifesto that are needed to “revolutionize the mode of production”, and are “pretty generally applicable to the most advanced countries”. They are described as “despotic inroads on the rights of property and on the conditions of production”.  Each point is followed by a list of things that may, at least in part, fit into the recommendation(s) of that point.
  
1.   The abolition of property in land, and the application of all rents of land to public purposes.
-Fair Housing Act
-State run low income housing
-Eminent Domain
-EPA

2.   A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
-The left's call to “tax the rich”. (The Buffet Rule)
-47% of the population pays no income tax.

3.   Abolition of all right of inheritance.
-Estate tax
-Death tax

4.   Confiscation of property of all immigrants and rebels.
-Eminent Domain

5.   Centralization of credit in the hand of the state by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.
-The Federal Reserve
-Doing away with the gold standard

6.   Centralization of means of communication and transport in the hands of the state.
-The FCC
  -Calls to regulate talk radio and the internet.
-The left's push for mass transit (light rail, high speed trains, focus on infrastructure)

7.   Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State; the bringing into cultivation of wastelands, and improvement of the soil generally in accordance with common plan
-EPA
-OSHA
-GE, GM, etc...
-Agenda 21

8.   Equal liability of all to labor. Establishments of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
-Unions (AFL-CIO etc...)
-EPA



9.   Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country, by a more equable distribution of the population over the country.

10.   Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in it's present form. Combination of education with industrial production.
-NEA
-Property Tax
-OSHA
